Key Features
Everything is driven from a normal customer or vendor payment and configured under Accounting › Configuration — one tick box on the journal, one holding account, and five settings.
Capture the cheque
- Flag any journal as a post dated cheque journal.
- Give that journal its own PDC holding account.
- Cheque number, cheque date and drawee bank on every payment.
- Cheques never inflate the bank balance before they clear.
- Works for customer cheques and vendor cheques alike.
Clear, bounce, redeposit
- Clear a cheque into the bank account you actually deposited it in.
- Clear on the date the bank honoured it, not the date you noticed.
- Bounce puts the balance straight back onto the partner.
- Return reason and bank return advice kept on the record.
- Redeposit a bounced cheque, and bounce it again if it fails twice.
- Full history on the cheque, each step linked to the entry it posted.
Recover the bank charge
- Return fee booked as Dr Bank Charges / Cr Bank when it is incurred.
- Bill the fee back with a bank recovery invoice.
- Invoice hard-capped at the fee you actually paid.
- Waive part of the fee and the invoice drops accordingly.
- Waive all of it and no invoice is raised at all.
- Recovery taxes and sales journal chosen in settings.
